Glass fiber is an excellent inorganic non-metallic material made from six minerals—pyrophyllite, quartz sand, limestone, dolomite, colemanite, and szaiberite—through processes including high-temperature melting, wire drawing, winding, and weaving. It is commonly used as a reinforcement material in composite materials, as well as an electrical insulation material and thermal insulation material.
